The Union Cabinet has approved a Rs 10,000 crore commitment towards the SME Growth Fund, an Alternative Investment Fund that will make direct equity investments in small and medium enterprises, with most of the allocation going to manufacturing firms and industrial clusters in Tier-II and Tier-III cities.
